This site started from a simple annoyance: most horror game lists send you to a page that asks you to install something, register an account, or watch a thirty-second advert before the game begins. We wanted one page that opens the game directly, and we rewrite that list every time a link dies.

Every title that joins the list has to pass three tests. First, the opening screen must appear within eight seconds on an ordinary mobile connection. Second, the game must be playable without reading a guide outside the game. Third, there must be a way to stop midway without losing all progress. A game that fails any one of those stays out, however good it looks.

We do not host these games on our own servers. We choose from independent developers' catalogues and re-sort them by the way they press on the player: chasing you, waiting for you, or leaving you alone in a room that makes no sense. That is why two games that look alike can sit in different sections.

We use no accounts, no newsletters, and no cross-site tracking. You can read this site without accepting a cookie from us, and you can close the tab whenever you like. If a game stops working or asks for an install, tell us through the Contact page and we will recheck it within the same week.
